Weight Loss for Golfers

Special Offer Insures No Holiday Gains

Top Golfer’s Food and Weight Loss Coach Larry Jacobs
Consistently Outperforms the Weight Loss “Experts”
Shows Golfers How to Go from Fat Storer to Fat Burner

NORTH POTOMAC, Maryland – Promising golfers smaller clothing sizes, no hunger, plenty to eat and the sublime feel of lightly striding up the 18th fairway with legs as fresh as on the first, veteran Food and Weight Loss Coach Larry Jacobs is offering access to his Weight Loss for Golfers Tele-Seminar Series at the highly discounted rate of $397.

Guaranteed to make participants “Thin for Life,” the program can more immediately help golfers navigate a difficult time of year (the holidays) when dietary temptations are rich, plentiful and powerfully seductive.  “Just as players in many parts of the country are putting away their clubs for winter, extra weight often starts to sneak on,” says Jacobs. “Then comes Thanksgiving and feasts that don’t stop until January. Without a change in eating habits and some focus, a lot of people are destined to pack on more flab.”

“I call it Weight Gain Season because so many Americans gain seven to 10, or even 15 to 20 pounds over the holiday season, and more important they feel really bad about it,” continues Jacobs, who since 1983 has helped clients adopt healthful eating and lose pounds. “But with a simple change in eating habits, it’s possible to start out 2012 a lot lighter than you were on Thanksgiving. Instead of gaining 10 or 20 pounds over the holidays, some of my more famous golf clients actually LOST 15 to 30 pounds. That’s like making a birdie on a hole you expect to double bogey.”

Due to his lively “no nonsense” approach in providing commentary on this important topic that plagues people everywhere, Jacobs is a frequent and popular radio talk show guest and he continues to emerge as the food and weight loss expert for national golf and lifestyle media.

Jacobs typically offers his Live and Interactive Tele-Seminars every four months, with the next scheduled for February 15, 2012.  His “Turn the Tables on the Holidays” special offer (for those don’t want to wait until February) grants instant access to the password-protected “Private Member Graduates” section of his most recent Tele-Seminar, which includes all audio recordings and published materials from the Weight Loss for Golfers program. The $397 represents a 50 percent discount from the seminar’s regular rate of $997, and includes an additional $100 coupon bonus reduction for anyone who signs up before December 25, 2011.

Through thousands of individual consults and more than 50 Weight Loss Tele-Seminars, Jacobs has enabled people from all walks of life in 22 countries to modify and improve their eating habits. More recently he’s focused on golfers, with a list of notables that include Champions Tour Players Fred Funk and Allen Doyle; famed Golf Instructor Don Trahan and NBC Sports’ Dottie Pepper.

In fact, Tour Pro D.J. Trahan’s father and swing coach Don Trahan now fits into a suit he hasn’t worn in 17 years and credits Jacobs’ program with saving his life. (Watch Video:  http://weightlossforgolfers.com/the-thin-for-life-golfers-weight-loss-program-saved-my-life/).

Adds Dottie Pepper, now broadcaster and former LPGA star: “After working with Larry’s plan for barely six weeks I’m definitely smaller, up to two sizes in some of my jeans. I have a lot more energy. And I feel like this hasn’t been that big of deal, even to maintain on the road.”

A Weight Loss Plan for Golfers – Takes the “D” Word Out of Tee-To-Green Health

Jacobs teaches his clients a clean eating regimen that’s proven to burn excess fat while leaving them full and satisfied. His promise is compelling, “I can show any golfer how to go from a Fat Storer to a Fat Burner in two weeks or less – without starving or dieting in the traditional sense or counting calories,” he explains. What’s more, the program doesn’t hinge on fasting, pills, banning carbohydrates or the severe caloric restriction common to conventional diets.

“It’s almost impossible to restrict calories and eat less forever, which is why diets don’t work and people usually regain all or more of what they lost,” says Jacobs. “My clients eat as much as they want whenever hungry, and it’s real food that you get in grocery stores and restaurants. The key is to learn to eat clean. It’s not how much you eat. It’s what you eat that matters most.”

By combining simple physical activity with Jacobs’ method of eating clean, the body’s metabolism is trained to burn fat instead of storing it, which can show up in a major way. “I don’t want my clients obsessing over a number on a scale, which can be demoralizing,” adds Jacobs. “The best way to measure progress isn’t weight, but fitting into smaller clothes, feeling more energetic, healthy, and happy about how you look and feel.”

The Thin for Life program had its genesis in California during the 1970s, when Jacobs suffered from severe gastrointestinal pain. After several futile treatments, he turned to a physician pioneering nutrition-oriented medicine, who discovered he was allergic to one specific food. Inspired by a dramatic health turn around, Jacobs returned to his native Maryland, studied nutrition, its impact on health and hung up a shingle to coach others on what he’d learned.

“While the original idea was more about wellness than weight,” he adds, “I eventually ended up working with more folks with BIG bellies than with bad bellies.”

Although a novel practice at the time, the science of nutrition, wellness and physical performance is now mainstream, most famously evident when the world’s top tennis player, Novak Djokovic, removed glutens from his diet.

But why the focus on golfers?

“First, seven out of 10 golfers are overweight, says Jacobs, “and the other three are not in the best shape, either. Second, it’s a way to merge my passion for golf with what I’m best at: Helping people burn fat. I’m a Special Olympics golf coach, a four handicap and mad dog golfer myself, and know the lengths players will go to improve their games.”

“I make the whole thing like a game of golf. The front nine is from the time you and I wake up until after lunch. The back nine is after lunch until it’s time we go to bed. I like to say that unlike golf, this is a game you can win by “shooting par or under” almost every day of your life. Even if on the front nine you had a bogey or two, you’ve still got the rest of the day and the opportunity to shoot a decent score.”

Jacobs says that this instantly resonates with a large group of Baby Boomers and senior golfers heading down “the back nine of life,” when excess weight and the poor health that comes with it detracts from play and makes the game less fun.

“They immediately know I’m one of them,” says Jacobs. “While golfers have been encouraged to try stretching and get stronger, food and nutrition has been largely overlooked. Most important, all of us need the right information, the right mindset and the right blueprint. Most golfers have none of these three pieces, so it’s no wonder they constantly struggle in this arena.”

Structured to run over four sessions, the seminar consists of written materials and audio recordings of the four separate call-in or web sessions, each of which lasts from 60 to 90 minutes. While this special offer doesn’t include the live call-ins that don’t start up again until February, the audio recordings and written materials that are included cover the entire program.

“We break things into two week chunks,” says Jacobs, “and the first piece is about temporarily eliminating certain foods that aren’t good for you.” Some things, like potato chips and processed meats are obvious. But Jacobs also has a “dirty dozen” list of foods to avoid and a list of 50 or 60 foods to enjoy any time you’re hungry in that first two-week period.

The second session involves systematically re-introducing some of the foods and gauging the body’s reaction, while the next sessions are devoted to creating an individualized long-term plan to build healthy eating into a lifestyle. Jacobs isn’t a fan of weigh-ins; he’s more interested in pant size. “I don’t really believe in eating smaller portions,” he says. “No one can eat less forever. You have to start learning how to eat clean. Food is the foundation. I also insist on some form of daily physical activity. When you know how to merge eating clean and exercise, you get a multiplier effect. It’s like adding 1 + 1 = 4.”

Weight Loss for Golfers Guarantees Relief from Summer Gains

Top Golfers Food and Weight Loss Coach Larry Jacobs Consistently Outperforms the “Experts”

(NORTH POTOMAC, Md.) – Promising golfers smaller clothing sizes, no hunger, plenty to eat, and the sublime feel of lightly striding up the 18th fairway with legs as fresh as on the first, veteran Food and Weight Loss Coach Larry Jacobs will present his latest Weight Loss for Golfers Tele-Seminar Series Sept. 28 – and with a special end-of-summer half-price offer. Guaranteed to make participants “Thin for Life,” the four-part program comes at a time of year when many golfers are noticing a suspiciously expanding end of summer waistline.

The reason, “in the dog days of summer golfers tend to drink more sodas and beer, and eat more hot dogs, chips, potato salad and other comfort foods,” explains Jacobs, who since 1983 has helped clients adopt healthful diets and lose pounds. “Just as players in many parts of the country are putting away their clubs for winter, extra weight often starts to sneak on.  Then comes Thanksgiving and feasts that don’t stop until January. Without a change in eating habits and some focus, a lot of people are destined to pack on more flab.”

Having previously conducted thousands of consults and upwards of 50 Weight Loss Tele-Seminars, Jacobs has enabled people from all walks of life in 22 countries to modify and improve those habits. More recently he’s focused on golfers, with a list of satisfied golf notables that includes NBC Sports on course Golf Announcer Roger Maltbie, Fred Funk, Allen Doyle, Don Trahan and Dottie Pepper.

“I lost over 30 pounds in the first two months of working with Larry,” says Maltbie. “My clothes were falling off me and I was very happy about that.” The success Maltbie had working with Jacobs led to a full page article in Golf Digest magazine. Adds Pepper, a golf broadcaster and former LPGA star: “After working with Larry for barely six weeks I’m definitely smaller, up to two sizes in some of my jeans.  I have a lot more energy. And I feel like this hasn’t been that big of deal, even to maintain on the road.”

Jacobs gave Funk “game day” food advice just after qualifying for the U.S. Open at Bethpage in 2009.

Don Trahan (Tour Pro D.J. Trahan’s father and swing coach) now fits into a suit he hasn’t worn in 17 years and credits Jacobs’ program with saving his life.
(Watch recent video with Don Trahan here.)

Jacobs’ promise is compelling, “I can show any golfer how to go from a Fat Storer to a Fat Burner in 2 weeks or less without dieting, counting calories or starving, guaranteed.” That’s because Jacobs’ program doesn’t hinge on fasting, pills, banning carbohydrates or the severe caloric restriction common to conventional diets.

When you combine some simple physical activity with Jacobs’ method of eating, the body’s metabolism gets trained to burn fat instead of storing it.

“I don’t want my clients obsessing over a number on a scale, which can be demoralizing,” adds Jacobs. “The best way to measure progress isn’t weight, it’s about getting smaller and fitting into smaller clothes plus how much better and more energetic you look and feel.”

The Thin for Life program had its genesis in California during the 1970s, when Jacobs began suffering severe gastrointestinal pain. After several futile treatments, he turned to a physician pioneering nutrition-oriented medicine, who discovered he was allergic to one specific food. Inspired by a dramatic health turn around, Jacobs returned to his native Maryland, studied nutrition, its impact on health, and hung up a shingle to coach others on what he’d learned. “While the original idea was more about wellness than weight,” he adds, “I eventually ended up working with more folks with BIG bellies than with bad bellies.”

Although a novel practice back then, the science of nutrition, wellness and physical performance is now mainstream, most famously evident by the improved conditioning of Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic, after removing glutens from his diet. But an obvious question for Jacobs is why the focus on golfers?

“First, I’m a mad dog golfer myself, and know the lengths players will go to improve their games,” explains Jacobs, a volunteer Special Olympics Golf Coach who carries
a four handicap. “The golfers instantly know that I’m one of them. Second, there’s also a large group of Baby Boomers and seniors heading down the “back nine” of life, when excess weight and the poor health that comes with it detracts from play and makes the game less enjoyable.  And while golfers have been encouraged to try yoga and get stronger, nutrition has been largely overlooked. I make the whole thing a lot like a game of golf, where you make birdies, pars, bogeys and others throughout the day. I tell them that unlike golf, this is a game you can actually win by shooting Par, under Par, or a little over Par – just about every day of your life. All you need is the right mindset and blueprint.”

The Weight Loss for Golfers Tele-Seminar is a substantial piece of work, as well as a life changing process for participants.  While it regularly sells for $997, this September’s Tele-Seminar Series is being offered for $497 with an iron clad money back guarantee,
which Jacobs says “is only fair.”

Structured to run over four sessions, it consists of written materials and four separate call-in or listen on the web sessions, each of which lasts from 60 to 90 minutes.  During the call-in sessions – which are recorded and kept on a password-protected system – Jacobs verbally goes through the steps of the program and answers questions by email and phone.

“We break things into two week chunks,” he explains, “and the first session is about temporarily eliminating certain foods that aren’t good for you.” Some things, like potato chips and processed meats are obvious. But Jacobs also has a “dirty dozen” list of foods to avoid and a list of 50 or 60 foods to enjoy in that first two week period.

The second session involves systematically re-introducing some of the foods and gauging the body’s reaction, while the next sessions are devoted to creating an individualized long-term plan to build healthy eating into a lifestyle. “I also insist on some form of daily physical activity,” he adds. “That’s one half.  The other half is learning to eat clean.”

Unhealthy Fats to Avoid–Protects Against Inflammation

Unhealthy Fats to Avoid–Protects Against Inflammation

Chronic Inflammation: Reduce It to Protect Your Health

Cancer, diabetes, depression, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s are
increasingly thought to have a common denominator: Inflammation.
Obesity, too, makes you prone to inflammation.

Here are few food food tips to help protect yourself.

Unhealthy Fats to Avoid

1. Artificially hardened fats, containing oxidized fatty acids and
trans fats, are pro-inflammatory, (cause inflammation) and have
no place in any diet intended to promote good health.

This includes: Margarine, vegetable shortening and partially hydrogenated
vegetable oils, all of which should all be avoided.

Sidebar: You will often be ambushed in many restaurants, because they sell
margerine as butter since it’s far chaper than real butter.  Sometimes only
the chef and owners know, the waiters have no idea.

1. Avoid fried food in restaurants, especially fast-food
restaurants. The oils in the fryers will contain oxidized/rancid fats.

Good tip: Train your nose to detect rancidity. It’s the smell of oil paint.
Throw out any oils that smell rancid. Do not eat any nuts, seeds or
whole-grain flours or cereals that smell rancid. Smell any commercial
products made with oil to check for rancidity before you eat them.
More to come on this important topic–next time.

Bottom Line - learning to do your foods right has a profound influence

Diet Soda = Bigger Bellies

Diet Sodas = Bigger Bellies

A “surprising” new report adds to growing evidence that diet drinks are
working against us in our efforts to lose weight. Researchers who followed
a group of 474 people over a 10-year period found those who used diet sodas
experienced a 70% increase in their belly circumference vs. those who did not
drink diet sodas. For frequent diet soda drinkers, defined as two or more a day,
belly size increased a gargantuan 500% compared to non diet soda drinkers.

As I’ve been posting for the last 28 years…Diet sodas have zero nutritionally
redeeming features and have been associated with a number of unhealthy
scenarios including: metabolic syndrome, poorer bone health, tooth enamel
erosion, and kidney function decline. Drinking them is bad role modeling and
a bad habit, and a simple one to unload.
