When I was a little boy I used to love eating at my grandmothers. She was a great cook and I used to eat a ton of food which worried her.

Why? Because her husband and (my grandfather who I never knew) died of a heart attack when MY father was 5.

My grandma always said he dug his grave with a knife and fork. (this always stuck with me).

Here are some Sobering Facts:

Although the U.S. may be the most powerful nation on earth, we do
not excel in health.

No matter how much information has become available about the
dangers of diets full of processed foods and sedentary lifestyle,
we still don’t change our ways. This is a recipe for disaster
and it has become a disaster.

Americans should be able to translate our financial well being into
healthier habits that lead to better, longer, lives that are not mired
with high cost, self inflicted chronic diseases.

Regardless of economic status we Americans are drawn to eating
unhealthy food, and we are not alone. Most Western countries have similar
issues.

One thing is for sure our American Diet is killing us.
7 out of 10 of us are overweight or obese and the U.S.
Surgeon General has reported over 300,00 deaths a year
are caused by or related to overweight and obesity.

Frustrated, the public turns to “magic” cures, pills, shakes,
supplements, and diets that simply don’t work or are unsafe.

The eat less food and calories count has done more damage to those
who want to lose weight, because their bankrupt strategy is also
a recipe for failure. Just ask any dieter–chances are they are
bigger now than ever before. After several futile attempts they
often feel like giving up hope.

The Problem…They’ve been given the wrong information.
